Although February is the busiest month of the year, I managed to sneak out and see Coraline. Unfortunately, our theater did not have the 3-D version of the movie. I don't think it detracted from the movie at all to see it sans plastic goggles. It was obvious in some scenes where the 3-D effects were placed. Personally, I think the 3-D movies are just gimmicks to get consumers to pay more money to rent a pair of 3-D glasses. Maybe it's just me, but I'm pretty keen on seeing the depth of the scenes without special 3-D effects. As I prepare for the celebration of 12 years together with Erika, I took a little break to write a review. Enjoy.

About six months ago, I wrote a review for Star Wars: The Clone Wars. After posting that review, I practically neglected the theater for the rest of the year, managing only three visits by year's end, two of which were in the last week of the year. The main reason for staying away was because of the dreadful releases for the last quarter of the year. There was really nothing out that I cared enough to see. I had a mild interest in Igor, and I'm not sure it ever hit the big screen. Had anything good come out, chances are if I found time to watch it, I would not have had time to review it. Time passes and things change. Although it took three weeks into the new year, I finally made it back to the theater, this time for Inkheart, and wrote my first review of 2009.
