Have you ever felt really out of place? Maybe like the straight guy the Queer Eye guys are trying to help or maybe like a black guy at a Klan rally. I was in one such situation today. Out shopping for Easter presents, I was at the mall in the middle of the afternoon. However, I seemed to be the only middle-aged guy there. Everyone else was either female, a child or a senior citizen. Apparently guys only go to the mall on weekends when forced by their wives or girlfriends. Luckily I was able to get through shopping and get out of there before anyone got suspicious.

Tonight, the Old School section has been updated. Slide across the hood of your car and climb in through the windows. It's time for The Dukes of Hazzard.

The dream is finally over. In hopes of a basketball national championship, I rooted for Alabama as much as I could. It seems as if their luck ran out against UConn. For the first half they were lucky to get the ball in the air much less make it go through the hoop. For a team that was rarely ranked in the Top 25 ever this season, they did the SEC proud. Unlike those other teams that give the SEC a black eye *cough* Florida *choke* Kentucky *cough* Mississippi State. Sorry must have been a hairball.

In case you haven't noticed, there's a review for Hidalgo. There should be some new trivia questions and maybe more if I have the time tonight.

Finally, the WWE has addressed some programming problems. This week, the WWE changed up the rosters of their two brands, RAW and Smackdown! After hearing what was planned, I was excited at the thought of new feuds. When it was all over, I was as disappointed as I usually am after a PPV. A lot of hype, but very little substance. Most of the people that swapped rosters were mid-carders at best. How this is going to better the shows I have no idea. As of Monday night, the biggest move was HHH and RVD to Smackdown! However, HHH came back to RAW while the Dudleys and Booker T were "traded" to Smackdown! on Tuesday night. What a load of crap.

4 days of college basketball and almost everyone's bracket is a bust. What a crazy NCAA tournament this year. Personally, I don't think any of my brackets stand a chance, but I don't care this year. With much excitement and glee, I watched as Alabama pulled off one of the biggest upsets in tournament history. #1 seed Stanford only had one loss this season. 'Bama gave them the second. Do I think Alabama can win it all? Not a chance if you ask me, but I didn't think they could really beat Stanford. However, things got much more interesting today with Xavier beating Mississippi State and UAB beating Kentucky. The Tide has my full support. I've never looked forward to basketball before now, but I have to wait until Thursday for the next game.

If you are waiting for more NCAA action, visit the gameroom and pass some time by reading the next virtual reality column: Smackdown style.

It's the middle of March. Why is it snowing like it's the middle of winter? This is absolutely ridiculous to have an inch of snow falling every hour. Overall, I think we ended up with 5-6" of snow. I watched as maintenance cleared the sidewalks only to have them completely covered within 45 minutes. Thankfully, the worst is over. I can't wait to move away from here and into warmer climates.

It pains me to say that I enjoy the show "Newlyweds" with Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey. I'll admit Jessica is easy on the eyes, but her stupidity hurts my brain. Why would I torture myself? The fact is, the stupidity and ignorance of Jessica Simpson is hilarious. Surely it's an act because no one could be that stupid. She ceases to amaze me. I'm not sure how much longer the show will last as it's in the second season. They won't be newlyweds next season, but with MTV milking their cash cows dry, I imagine they will put together a few more seasons. We all know that showing videos on MTV would be sacrilege.

By the way, the review of Miracle has been posted.

Ah, the joy of taxes. I had so much fun Sunday trying to figure out how much of my money the government wants to take from me. Federal taxes weren't too bad the second time. We started a month ago and after 30 minutes of work found out we had to use a different from since our total income exceeded the limit for that form. Well, the next form was ridiculously long and none of the extra stuff was necessary for us. What a pain.

So after that headache, we started on our state taxes. The state sent us a tele-file book. Yuck! Well, since we had nothing else, we went through tele-file and found out we owed 230% more this year than last. How in the world does that happen? All of this information was given over the phone. I had no idea how they got this total. I was pissed and really didn't care initially. But, after entering my account and routing number to make a payment, the system was suddenly out of service. I was instructed to call back in an hour. Ugh! You win; whatever you say. An hour later the same thing happens at the same spot. Grrrrrrr. Screw tele-file. I'll file on-line. I make it all the way to putting in a routing and account number and once again the system is suddenly unavailable. What the hell? By now I'm irate and frustrated. Unfortunately, now I have to wait another week to see if the payment posted before doing anything else. Why does it have to be this difficult?

I'm horrible at predicting schedules it seems. I had everything meticulously planned for updates, but I had no idea that my schedule would exceed the life span of a fruit fly. Maybe it's because of the cursed weather. Only in Ohio can it be 70 one day and snow the next. And not just flurries, but 2-3 inches of it over 2 days. Thankfully, it's over for a few days, but we are in for another round this weekend.

So, my updates may be delayed, but they will get there. I spent so much time working on my virtual reality column last night and still didn't finish it. I'll have that done tonight. With any luck I can get new trivia posted as well.

After watching Miracle last night, I've decided to forgo an extensive review of Something's Gotta Give. It's been a month since I've seen it and it wasn't that good. Here's a brief review though.

If you are under the age of 45, this movie probably isn't for you. Erika and I were the youngest people in the audience and laughed very little while those around us guffawed. Nothing against Jack Nicholson or Diane Keaton as they had decent performances. I just think we were to young to find the movie amusing.

As for new material, the virtual reality column in the Gameroom will be updated soon. A review of Miracle will be up this week as well as birthday pics. Look for new Trivia tomorrow.

As promised, a review of The Butterfly Effect. More to come this weekend hopefully.

March 01, 2004

I've been a slacker lately. I admit it. There have been no updates for the last week and no movie reviews for even longer. I've been enjoying the last week. I've been rather burnt out with class and enjoyed having very little to grade other than finals. On top of all of that I had a birthday as well. I'm not one to look forward to getting older, but I enjoy the pampering I'm subjected to.

So, it's time to get back to work. I plan to have a review for The Butterfly Effect this week followed shortly by Something's Gotta Give. I will update the trivia section within the next day or so. Expect a new episode of wrestling in the Gameroom over the weekend.
