This morning I had the pleasure of being mesmerized by PBS. Those of you that know me might remember at one time I was a watcher of
Teletubbies. I caught the show the morning before Mr. Garrigan's wedding and it cracked me up. I watched it for a few weeks laughing at it until it became repetitive. Well, this morning I was flipping channels and came across a show called
Boohbah. These colorful creatures are weirder than Teletubbies. Each one looks like a giant, pastel bladder with arms and legs. They don't have a mouth but have a little rounded head that pops out the top. Their eyebrows are rows of lights and their "fur" is filled with twinkling lights. I sat there staring at the TV for about 5 minutes in a daze not wanting to turn the channel. What do they put in these shows to make people watch? If I was so easily mesmerized, I can imagine a child watching for hours unaware that anything else is happening. Finally I was able to break myself away and continue with my day. If you want to see what these little guys look like visit

I updated the movie reviews last night. Hot off the press is my review of
I, Robot. Coming next is a review of
Bourne Supremacy and a new
Cyber Quickie for
The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventure from my extended stay at Best Buy as they hooked up my XM Radio car adapter.
The flood begins with a small trickle. I've just posted the review for
King Arthur. Enjoy.
At long last, the move is practically over. I have a car load to take down next Friday, but everything else is in Tuscaloosa. Erika has worked really hard to unpack almost everything. I still have some toys and games to organize, but that's about it. I hope to start pushing out movie reviews as soon as I can. The first one is for
King Arthur. Once I get caught up on all of the updates, I plan to start redesigning the web site and making things better. A web designer's work is never done.
We are down to three days before the big move. In a way I'm excited. I'm not looking to the whole loading/unloading thing or the drive down. I am looking forward to a fresh start. I have an opportunity to redecorate and get a new set of surroundings, and I have a chance to meet new people and teach different classes.
Today was cleaning day. We spent 3 hours cleaning the bathroom and kitchen. We have turned into disgusting people. I vow never to let our new dwelling get that bad again. I say that now, but can I keep up is the big question.
Last night we went to see RAW, possibly for the last time in the near future. Not only was the show boring, but once we move, it will probably be another year or so before it comes to Birmingham. The excitement just isn't there any more. I remember the first few times that I went to a wrestling event. It was exciting and fun, but now it's the classic same crap, different day. I'm not sure why this is. Having split rosters may have something to do with it. If the two rosters were together you could have a lot more variety. RAW just doesn't have the star power to make it interesting. Every week we see Benoit and HHH fighting. Every week HHH and Evolution steal the spotlight. (yawn!) It must be nice to be married to the boss' daughter. It seems any more I turn on wrestling out of habit hoping something good will happen. Most of the time I'm disappointed.
Unfortunately, I won't have the opportunity to see Summerslam. This may be a blessing in disguise. The card looks good, but that never means anything anymore. The card can look amazing and still have a show full of crap.
T-7 days and counting. In one week I will be on the road to T-Town probably near Louisville. Because of the tremendous amount of time needed to finish packing and clean, I'm going to put the web site on hold for about 10 days. I'll update the blogger but nothing else. I have plenty to do with at least 4 movie reviews and probably a fifth before I leave town.
Tuesday night, I went to one of the best concerts of the summer seeing Maroon V and John Mayer. I was lucky enough to be sitting about 3 rows back between 3 teenage girls who were obvious Maroon V fans. Each one wore a t-shirt with their name and a picture of the band on the back. One of the girls' names was Becky. She was so excited she could hardly contain herself. I wouldn't have been surprised if she had a wet spot in her jeans.
John Mayer is a truly gifted guitarist. He played some nice riffs and did a cover of Jimi Hendrix. The stage was very simple with painted class panels standing behind the band. They were very pretty with lights shining behind them. Surprisingly, he played over two hours including the encore. The concert was much more entertaining than work.
