April Fool's Day has come and passed with not even a hint at a prank from me. This is highly unusual. To be honest, I didn't even think about it, much to my parents pleasure I'm sure. I should be ashamed at the torture I've thrust upon my mother every year.

According to my mom, I've pulled some good ones. Last year I had what I thought to be a very obvious prank. I wrote a blog (on April 1st) suddenly declaring my allegiance to Bush and the Iraq war and that I was going to join the Marines. I didn't think there was any way that anybody would believe it if they knew me at all. Either my mom doesn't know me or I was completely convincing.

One year there was the required "we aren't married, but she's having my baby" prank. That one caused some tears and trouble for a little bit. One of my favorite pranks wasn't even on April Fool's Day; it was on Father's Day. I had accompanied my parents to church and during the service, they started recognizing dads (the oldest, youngest, etc.). In a completely impromptu moment (and to this day I don't know what provoked me to do this), I stood up when they recognized the father with the most kids. My mother was horrified. I am so mean, but she's good spirited, thankfully.
