Ah, the joy of taxes. I had so much fun Sunday trying to figure out how much of my money the government wants to take from me. Federal taxes weren't too bad the second time. We started a month ago and after 30 minutes of work found out we had to use a different from since our total income exceeded the limit for that form. Well, the next form was ridiculously long and none of the extra stuff was necessary for us. What a pain.

So after that headache, we started on our state taxes. The state sent us a tele-file book. Yuck! Well, since we had nothing else, we went through tele-file and found out we owed 230% more this year than last. How in the world does that happen? All of this information was given over the phone. I had no idea how they got this total. I was pissed and really didn't care initially. But, after entering my account and routing number to make a payment, the system was suddenly out of service. I was instructed to call back in an hour. Ugh! You win; whatever you say. An hour later the same thing happens at the same spot. Grrrrrrr. Screw tele-file. I'll file on-line. I make it all the way to putting in a routing and account number and once again the system is suddenly unavailable. What the hell? By now I'm irate and frustrated. Unfortunately, now I have to wait another week to see if the payment posted before doing anything else. Why does it have to be this difficult?
