Anybody who knows me knows of my love for the Mets. I've followed them for 20 years thanks to the Miracle Mets of '86. I've never been a huge fan of "buying" a championship. During the last offseason I was ok with the Mets picking up Paul LoDuca. He's a good catcher but not a person I would consider a star player. I didn't mind them picking up Wagner as we needed someone to close. Brandon "Pooper Scooper" Looper sure wasn't getting the job done. There was some grumbling when Delgado made an appearance. Did the Mets really need another star player? Granted the Mets don't look like the Yankees, or at least they didn't until today. As if the Mets needed another outfielder, they traded for Shawn Green. It looks like the Mets are slowly turning into the Yankees. In case no one has noticed, the Yankees are either loved or hated. If you are a Yankees fan, you love the all-star team and the winning. If you hate the Yankees, it's because of the all-star team and the winning. Please stop buying a championship. Does it really mean anything if you buy the best players?

Greetings everyone. It has been quite awhile since this site has seen any action at all. You can thank work for that. Teaching 8 classes a week really eats away your time. When I'm not working I'm sleeping and that really has to stop. I can't take much more of the 60 hour weeks. Including commute time, I spend about 37 hours at ITT. Factor in the grading and lesson plans I'm looking at roughly 45 hours. Tack on my online classes with Westwood College which require about 8 hours in grading plus 3-5 hours a week initiating and responding to student discussions and/or problems and you have my typical week.

I'm happy to have this weekend free. I did some grading, and wrote a final exam review, but I have nothing else I have to do except enjoy some down time. Monday will back to the grind as I have to start preparing for the Fall quarter. Luckily there are only two classes I have to fully prepare for. Both of them are calculus classes. As long as I know how to do the examples in the book, it shouldn't be that hard.

There are some changes coming down the pipe though, however, I'm unable to share them at this time. All in all, the results should mean more free time for me if everything works out. What I wouldn't do for more free time. I'd love to be able to come home and sit in the hammock while playing a little Nintendogs, Meteos and Tetris before watching some primetime TV (or hockey as the NHL season nears). While watching TV, taking the needed time to rebuild the web site to make it flashier and more professional while keeping everything else updated. I think I'm going to strictly focus on movie reviews and blogging. Of course I'd like to branch out and do some game blogging , but not too much too soon.

I just managed to get my new DVD burner installed as well as Half-Life 2: Episode 1. I want to get a few shots off before going to see Hootie and Better Than Ezra tonight.
