My apologies to those of you that tried to visit the site over the weekend. Due to non-payment issues with my host, they suspended the site. Unfortunately, I did not update my contact info with the host after I moved last year, so the e-mails and phone calls were not received. These things probably wouldn't happen if they weren't running out of a strip mall somewhere in Virginia. There is no link on their site to update information as I finally found out. To update my contact info, I have to call or e-mail them. E-mailing support will get you a reply only during business hours, same as a phone call. The person answering the support e-mails and the phone are the exact same person. There is only one other person involved in the business and that is the owner. I will be looking for a better host after the holidays. These people are the least technologically advanced hosts I've ever seen.
So, now that all the problems have been fixed, I have uploaded a review for
Walk the Line in
Now Playing. It's unlikely that any other updates will be made until next year.
Presidential Tragedy
Crawford, Texas
A tragic flood this morning destroyed the personal library of President George W. Bush. The flood began in the presidential bathroom where both books were kept. Both his books have been lost. A presidential spokesman said the president was devastated, as he had almost finished coloring the second one. The White House tried to call FEMA, but there was no answer.
I am astounded by the actions of Southerners when it is cold. Last night was our first big frost. By 10:30 PM, there was already a think layer of frost on my car which I had to scrape off before I started home from work. Several other people were leaving at the same time and none of them bothered to scrape off the frost. Apparently being able to see out your windows is not important at night. One student did let his car warm up, but I imagine he only cleared his windshield after spraying it with washer fluid and creating heat with friction from the wiper blades.
This morning I was out again scraping when a woman and her daughter left for work and school respectively. Rather than scrape off the car, the mom just rolled down the windows which did practically nothing. After sitting there for a minute with the heater on, she drove across the parking lot to sit her truck in the sunshine for another minute before pulling off with frosted windows. I'm glad the safety of her and her daughter isn't worth the two minutes it would have taken to scrape the windows.
New to the site is a review for
Chicken Little (the game) under
CyberQuickies. Give it a read and let me know what you think.
I'm still here. There has been no new content for over a month and no postings on the blog for two weeks. For that I apologize. I'm suffering a severe case of life burnout right now. This is the time of year when everything is non-stop. Add preparing for Christmas to the regular day-to-day operations and things get a little hectic. Except over Thanksgiving, I don't think there has been any slow down for me.
The Fall quarter ended right before Thanksgiving and then started again right after. I had all of two days to try to get my classes prepared for the next quarter. As usual, the transition between quarters didn't go smoothly. One of my books wasn't received until the first day of classes for the week, so I had to bust my tail to read a new book and get the first week's lecture completed. To top it off, the first week's lecture was over
FOUR chapters. Luckily, I had two days to prepare.
For the moment I'm on track, but I'm exhausted. When I'm not at work, I'm at home working on Christmas or trying to get caught up on my class prep. I'll be very happy in two weeks when the holiday break happens. Maybe I can relax a little then. I think the Friday before Christmas Eve will be a game day. Even if my brain oozes out, I should be able to open presents for a few days.
Everything is starting to get updated. Today I posted a review for
Jarhead in
Now Playing. It's definitely different but not for everybody. A new
CyberQuickie should be up tomorrow, followed by an update to the
Game Room later this week.
