Looks like things are getting better in terms of employment. I've been hired by Westwood College to teach in their online program. It doesn't start until August, but at least it's a step in the right direction. I've also been approved to teach on-line classes for ITT. That takes me out of the school even more, so hopefully I will only have to commute into work 2-3 times a week. I'm still looking for something better. If I could pick what I wanted to happen, I'd get a job at Alabama and supplement with the online school at ITT and/or Westwood.
I'd like to congratulate Beezle for winning the last trivia contest. Grover (trivia challenge #3) and Beezle (trivia challenge #4) should both be receiving their prizes next week.
It's been awhile since I've updates the
Old School section. I was hoping to get top that today, but I had too much to work on today. My plans are to get an update next week as well as restarting the
Weekly Rundown in
The Gameroom. I still haven't recovered from February and here it is almost April. April really doesn't look much better as I have to move to the new ITT building. But, I'll eventually have this thing running like a well oiled machine. I think I've been saying that since I started the site.
If you haven't explored the site recently, there is a review of
Paper Mario in
The Gameroom and a review of
Hostage in
Now Playing.
Trivia Challenge 4 is coming to a close. Answers are due Sunday. Check the message boards to find out if you are a winner.

Barry Bonds has never spoken more pleasing words than he did yesterday. The slugger is out until at least mid-season and possibly the whole year or perhaps even FOREVER (fingers crossed). I'm so sick of hearing about Barry Bonds. He is not a baseball god. Believe it or not, there are some other home run hitters out there. If I were a manager, I'd pitch to him almost every time. Might I lose the game? Yep, but I wouldn't inflate his ego even more by walking him.
His excuse is that he's physically and emotionally drained. Ok, I can understand that. He's been through some surgery recently on his knee. He's only been on the disabled list twice during his entire career. He's not used to being out of action. However, he decides to attack the media and blame them partially for him being out of action. Just admit it Barry. You are tired of your use of steroids being questioned. Everybody expects that you have used (or still do use) steroids. Get the monkey off your back and come clean. Yes, your records and reputation will be forever tarnished, but I guarantee you will feel better emotionally. Don't blame the media for your absence in the lineup. Don't kill the messenger for your own faults. You've always been an asshole to the media. If you'd stop thinking you are the best player ever in the history of baseball, perhaps you wouldn't be srutinized so much.
It's time for the biggest dance of the year, March Madness. As luck would have it Alabama is dancing in Cleveland. I move away and Cleveland becomes a happening spot. I would love to have gone to the tournament games, but alas, that will not be. My closest chance would be Nashville, but there isn't anyone in that bracket I care to see.
For those of you looking to fill out a last minute bracket, you can join my group on Yahoo. I opened this to my students, but no one has registered. There's no money involved (unless you want to place some side bets with me). To join, fill out a bracket at yahoo and join private group (52780) and the password is (itt). I believe lock-ins are at noon eastern.
I just want to take a moment to help my good friend Austin promote his site. Please check it out.

The last two and a half weeks have been crazy. Let's start with the days immediately after the last blog. On February 21, Erika and I celebrated 8 years together. I took her to a restaurant in Birmingham that she really likes as well as to the local nature preserve where they rehabilitate injured animals. This is the same place that hosted the chocolate buffet a week earlier. That night, we went to see Tammy Pascatelli at The Stardome. Monday, I fixed a nice picnic lunch and we went to see
The Wedding Date.
The following week was finals week at ITT. That's always a busy time. Finals week ended with my 30th birthday on the 26th. The Friday before was games day as I spent about 8 straight hours playing everything from pool to Disney Trivial Pursuit to Paper Mario to poker. My family came down on my birthday to celebrate with me for the weekend.
Last week was spent closing out my classes. Now it's time for the next quarter. Thankfully I got my new schedule last Thursday. Nevermind that I should have had it weeks ago. If you want to revisit that rant, just scroll down. The schedule never got any better. In fact it got much worse. Now I'm teaching 6 classes, all but one of them at night. I even have a Friday night class now. It's definitely time for me to move on. I'm done with this crap. I also found out that I have no avenue for complaints lest I get on the wrong side of the dean. I'd rather just take what I'm given and give them notice when I find something else. For those of you at ITT in Strongsville, let's not make this public, ok?
To finish off my hectic 17 days, I spent a few days in Athens, Georgia with Erika at a conference she presented at. It was nice and relaxing. I managed to finish off
Gradius Galaxies on GBA and catch up on some reading.
To cap off my hectic schedule, some hax0rz decided my message board was a nice target thanks to some security holes. Those were patched with an upgrade. I still have some minor changes to make, but at least the board is functional.
For those of you that participated in Trivia Challenge 3, I'll get to the rewards this week (hopefully Tuesday). Another challenge should be up this week as well as a review of Paper Mario. If you aren't tired of reading, jump over to Now Playing and check out my review of
The Wedding Date.
