February 15, 2004

What a great Valentine's Day I experienced yesterday. Being that February is a month full of activities (V-Day, anniversary, birthday, etc.) I was solely in charge of the Valentine's Day activities. Unfortunately I had to work that morning and the afternoon didn't start very well either. Juggling with flowers, lunch and books from work, I dropped a bag with bowls of soup which of course spilled. Thankfully, the main course for lunch was in another bag. That was really the only problem and the date was very fun and problem-free for the most part. After lunch, we exchanged gifts. I have to admit I'm extremely spoiled as I am now the owner of 6 limited edition collectible dragon figures. The detail is amazing and gorgeous. I hope to have photos this week.

The date started with a stop at the Western Reserve Historical Society. The main reason for going was for an exhibit on Cinderella in the movies, a collection of gowns from Cinderella movies. Apparently, there have only been 3 Cinderella movies (Ever After, Tales of an Ugly Stepsister and Cinderella). The exhibit was quite small with about 36 costumes, but there was plenty to do in My Planet Earth, an interactive exhibit about how the Earth gets polluted. We spent a lot of time playing with all the little games there. We left when the museum closed and drove over to Little Italy. Dinner reservations weren't until 6:30 so we walked around for an hour peering into all of the shops. After some coffee and biscotti at a little coffee shop, we went to dinner at La Dolce Vita. It wasn't the best restaurant I've eaten at, but it offered a romantic atmosphere and decent food. After dinner it was time for the evening entertainment - I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change. Advertised as a musical comedy covering the gamut of love, it provided a few chuckles, but wasn't nearly as funny as I expected.

Overall, it was a very relaxing and romantic evening. And, I get to have another one next weekend as we celebrate seven years together.
